Grand designs London 2018

  • In May 2018, Mobalpa exhibited at the prestigious ‘Grand Designs Live’ event at London’s ExCel. Based upon the hugely successful Channel 4 series presented by Kevin McCloud, the event is designed to bring together industry-leading, design-led brands spanning 6 categories; Build, Gardens, Interiors, Kitchens & Bathrooms, Technology and The Design Arcade.

For Mobalpa, being one of the largest European brands and undertaking the event for the first time in the UK, location and design of the stand were paramount; given the level of exposure that an event such as this could bring to the Brand. Therefore, Mobalpa placed themselves at center-stage, right at the forefront of the exhibition’s Kitchen & Bathroom area. Here, the stand generated a huge amount of footfall and interest for our latest concept on show.

We exhibited our ‘bold and industrial-looking’ Melia Matt Black Kitchen for our stand. Showcasing different heights, depths and highlighting the capabilities of the product portfolio; combining some interesting individuality and bespoke elements in a cool, trendy ambience. We were also able to show a unique way of forming a breakfast bar that functions more like a table to aid greater comfort and usability during meal times. This concept was very popular with visitors to the stand.

The main item of interest on the stand was for our innovative Luxe Laminate worksurface. Smooth and lustre to the touch, many of our visitors believed it to be Solid Surface or Composite material.

The event was a real success for the brand as it not only provided a great deal of general interest and brand awareness, but also generated a high number of enquiries for our network of showrooms.

Mobalpa also won the highly-regarded ‘Grand Designs Loves Award’ for the impact, buzz and general interest shown for the stand. This award was well received by the brand and shows the hard work and dedication of both our Design and installation teams.

The stand was such an integral part of the event that Kevin McCloud filmed one of his advice segments, relating to Kitchens and interior design, on our stand.
